Sidari - local attractions
Located to the north of Corfu, about 26 miles from the airport, you’ll find the popular resort area of Sidari, the largest resort in the area. Originally two fishing villages, they are connected by a long sandy beach with two smaller beaches either side.
The central beach has been awarded Blue Flag status and is ideal for
families with its safe swimming, soft sand and plentiful sun beds
and umbrellas. To the west of the town, you’ll find the famous Canal
D’Amour with its rock formations and eroding sandstone cliffs. These
have formed tiny coves reached by paths and ladders.
The beaches offer a wide range of water
sports, (apart from jet skis), including water skiing, banana rides,
paragliding and scuba diving. Motor boats can also be rented by the
hour. From Sidari you can take a boat trip to three small charming
islands Erikoussa, Mathraki and Othoni.
In the main part of Sidari there is a
wealth of shops, tavernas, restaurants and bars. You’ll be spoilt
for choice with Greek, English, American, Italian and Chinese menus
available. There are also a number of supermarkets, cash machines
and places to exchange travellers’ cheques and currency.
But it is not all commercialised. The
Church in Sidari has a lovely, well kept park with lots of flowers
and places to sit.
Rebecca’s Village is located about 1km from Sidari Beach and the town itself can be reached in about 15 minutes on foot.
