Corfu - Weather
May -This is when visitors start
to arrive in Corfu as the charter flights start. During the first
two weeks of May, visitors will enjoy deserted beaches and
countryside that is full of flowers. After this, the weather starts
to warm up although there could be one rainy day a week.
June - For many Corfu is at its best in June. The days are warm with temperatures reaching the mid 20s, the evenings are warm and there is no rain. For sea-bathers, the sea is now beginning to warm up under the sun’s rays and the beaches are still relatively empty. Later in the month, temperatures begin to rise again and the island gets busier. Locals start to use the beach so they become more crowded. In the afternoon a breeze will cool everyone down although this drops by 8pm.
July - Statistics show that July is probably the hottest and
busiest month for guests on Corfu. Daytime temperatures rise to the
mid 30s, beaches are busy and the evenings warm. The apartments at
Rebecca’s Village are air-conditioned so you won’t have any
difficulty sleeping. Sometimes temperatures will reach to the upper
30s and humidity will make it feel warmer. It is the ideal time to
soak in the sun and then cool off in the pool or at Sidari Beach.
August - The first two weeks of August will see the
temperatures rise to the high 30s with high humidity. Guests at
Rebecca’s Village will enjoy the many sunbeds and umbrellas placed
around the pool or take a cold drink on the terrace overlooking the
pool. The sea at Sidari is as warm as a bath! Later in the month,
temperatures will fall a little to the mid 30s with high humidity
and there is a likelihood of afternoon tropical storms which will
last a few hours before the sun reappears. The beaches will be very
busy.
September - The hot weather
continues into early September with daily temperatures reaching the
30s. Evenings are warm and so is the sea so taking a dip at one of
the local beaches is lovely way to cool down. As the days go by,
temperatures drop slightly to the mid 20s. The beaches become
quieter and in the evening a jumper may be required.
October - The month of October sees daily temperatures rising
to the mid 20s. The skies are clear and light blue although there is
a higher possibility of rain. Evenings are cool and a jumper is
needed for the evenings. The seas around Sidari are still warm
enough for swimming. Later in the month temperatures drop to the low
20s and any rain returns the countryside to a lush green. At the end
of October many of the direct charter flights end so the only way to
the island is via Athens.

Guests at Rebecca’s Village
will enjoy some wonderful weather when they come to visit.
Corfu has a unique climate and is very different from mainland Greece and other islands. Typically the winter is very with abundant rainfall. It is this rainfall that keeps the island verdant and green during the hot summer months.
Summers are surprisingly cooler than other islands with temperatures not exceeding 39 degrees so it is great for families who want to enjoy the sun but not the excessive heat typical of other Greek islands.
