Eating out in Corfu

While the restaurant at Rebecca’s Village offers a great menu, we are sure that you will want to try other bars, tavernas and restaurants in the area. And there are plenty to choose from.

If you enjoy uncomplicated food with simple flavours then the native Corfiot cuisine is for you. With fresh meat and vegetables together with tasty seasonings central to all dishes, you are sure to find lots to enjoy on every menu. Locally produced olive oil, onion, garlic and pepper are ingredients you will find in many of the dishes.

Lunch time is typically one of mezedes which are small dishes of delicious foods such as meatballs, sausages, cheese, shrimp and stuffed vine leaves. These are accompanied by ouzo, the famous Greek aniseed flavoured liqueur or a beer.

In the evening many of the tavernas serve well known dishes like moussaka and kebabs together with popular favourites like Mastitsio which is lamb meat with macaroni and tomatoes, Sofrito which is small slices of veal in a spicy sauce and Bourdeto which is fish cooked in a sauce with red peppers and onions. Try these with the locally produced wine.
